The ongoing lawsuit with Cardi B and her former manager Klenord “Shaft” Raphael has been a long & drawn out process. It all started last April when Shaft sued the “Bodak Yellow” rapper for $10 million claiming that she breached her contract a few years back when ditching him for another manager. Cardi then countersued him for $15 million claiming he actually screwed her over after she trusted him with her business affairs, but apparently that $15 million isn’t enough. The Blast is now reporting that Cardi is suing Shaft for twice that amount, $30 million.
The singer was originally only seeking $15 million in damages but now wants $10 million in compensatory damages and another $20 million in punitive damages. Cardi claims that Shaft made her believe her interests were being protected but she says they were not. She accuses him of taking a bigger cut of her income than what was allowed.
The rap artist and reality TV star claims Shaft was way too involved. She believes his interest in Cardi B exceeded their work relationship. She reports that he was trying to handle everything and anything about her daily life. That includes her recently-concluded relationship with Offset, her ex-husband and the father of their baby child, Kulture. Cardi seems to believe Shaft got too intimate.Cardi had fired Shaft over a year ago and signed with Quality Control’s management division, Solid Foundation. Shaft then sued Cardi for $10 million, accusing the rapper of breach of contract as well as defamation.
Sources said Shaft played a major role in getting Cardi’s Love & Hip Hop gig and creating her breakout single “Bodak Yellow.” Cardi claimed, however, Shaft neglected to provide monthly accounting and withheld money owed to her.

Cardi is also currently facing an unrelated lawsuit over an alleged altercation at a New York strip club. The Invasion of Privacy artist is accused of attacking two women at the venue, and is now facing over a dozen charges, including reckless endangerment, criminal solicitation, conspiracy, harassment, and assault, as well as two counts of felony attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury.
