DaBaby Gets Sentence For Wal-Mart Shooting

DaBaby just might the hottest new rapper in the game.

And the fact that he shot and killed a man last November during a dispute in a  Huntersville, North Carolina Walmart won’t be derailing his career.

Charlotte rapper DaBaby was found guilty of a weapons charge on Thursday in connection to a fatal shooting in a North Carolina Walmart, a spokeswoman for the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office confirmed on Friday.

DaBaby, whose given name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, was tried before a District Court judge who found him guilty of misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon, DA’s office spokeswoman Meghan McDonald told The Charlotte Observer.

The 27-year-old rapper was sentenced to a year of unsupervised probation, according to McDonald.

DaBaby was charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Jalyn Domonique Craig of Charlotte during a fight in the Walmart on Bryton Town Center Drive in Huntersville on Nov. 5.

 

Judge Rules Yo Gotti Must Pay $6.6 million For Young Fletcher Snub

Yo Gotti lost his appeal to have a $6.6 million judgment against him vacated on Monday.

Earlier this year, a judge awarded the multi-million dollar payout to manager Michael Terry, who claims Gotti stiffed him on a planned collaboration with the North Carolina rapper Young Fletcher. Terry said Gotti refused to sign the appropriate paperwork that would allow the song to stream on Spotify and Apple Music. He also accused Gotti of attempting to finesse Fletcher over to his own record label. Gotti failed to appear to defend himself, so Judge Todd Burke ruled in favor of Terry, tripling the $2.2 million in damages because he believed Gotti engaged in deceitful business practices. Cardi B Is Suing Ex-Manager For $15 Million

The ongoing lawsuit with Cardi B and her former manager Klenord “Shaft” Raphael has been a long & drawn out process. It all started last April when Shaft sued the “Bodak Yellow” rapper for $10 million claiming that she breached her contract a few years back when ditching him for another manager. Cardi then countersued him for $15 million claiming he actually screwed her over after she trusted him with her business affairs, but apparently that $15 million isn’t enough. The Blast is now reporting that Cardi is suing Shaft for twice that amount, $30 million.

The singer was originally only seeking $15 million in damages but now wants $10 million in compensatory damages and another $20 million in punitive damages. Cardi claims that Shaft made her believe her interests were being protected but she says they were not. She accuses him of taking a bigger cut of her income than what was allowed. Read More ›

50 Cent Announces Power Will Not End After Season 6

“I changed my mind POWER is not going to be over after season 6,” he wrote. “This s— is [too] good.”

The highly-anticipated 15-episode season 6 will feature 50 Cent’s directorial debut and will also see the return of Emmy award-winning director Anthony Hemingway, who directed the show’s first two episodes back in 2014.

In May, 50 Cent bid an emotional farewell to the series.

“The last 5 seasons of Power have been an incredible ride for me and all of our supportive fans. We are far from over and I am excited to bring you more from the Power brand,” he said in a statement. “I am proud that I was able to put a lasting stamp on this chapter with my directorial debut in an episode that features one of the wildest scenes ever on the show.”“I have 4 spinoff shows coming so don’t trip,” he revealed on Instagram.

Cardi B Indicted on Felony Charges in Connection With Strip Club Attack

Cardi B has been slapped with 14 charges — including two felonies — for having two sisters beat up in a New York strip club last year.A grand jury has indicted Cardi B in connection with an alleged attack at a Queens, New York strip club in August 2018.The indictment includes two felony counts of intent to cause serious physical injury.In addition, Cardi has been indicted on six misdemeanors and six violations, according to the records. The indictment includes the previous charges of misdemeanor assault and reckless endangerment.The Bronx rapper was arrested for the alleged assault in October. The accusers, Jade and Baddie G, who are strip club bartenders, said they were jumped and hit with bottles and chairs. Cardi supposedly accused Jade of hooking up with Offset and that’s where the beef began.The grand jury returned its indictment after Cardi B rejected a plea deal back in April. Court records indicate that Cardi B is due in court on Tuesday, June 25 for arraignment.
