Cardi B’s former manager is asking a judge to not treat the singer different because of her fame, and wants her attempt to seal a videotape denied.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Cardi’s former manager Shaft is pleading with a judge shut down the singer in their $30 million battle.

Cardi recently went to court pleading for a protective order for her upcoming videotaped deposition in the case. Shaft will be deposing the singer and asking her about a variety of things. Cardi believes she will be asked about her finances and private conversations with husband Offset. She pleaded with the judge to order the videotape sealed and not released to the media or public.

In newly filed docs, Shaft says Cardi’s request is nonsense since her deposition hasn’t even taken place.

Shaft then trashes Cardi’s motion arguing, Defendant shares a multitude of information with the media that many people would consider personal. Without questioning the sincerity of defense counsel’s concern that his own designations will “detract from Plaintiffs’ opportunity to question Ms. Almanzar”, we dispute the implication that a preemptive blanket designation is the appropriate solution.”

He adds, “Defendant may be famous, but that does not in itself entitle her to dictate that her privacy interests are greater than those of other litigants.” Shaft is asking the judge to not grant Cardi’s motion.
